Grantley Wiltshire’s core practice areas are: Oil and Gas Law; Oil and Gas Acquisitions; Energy Project Development; Energy Contracts; Environmental Law. He is a member of the firm's Business Energy & Tax Group. Since 1982 he has been involved significantly in the development of natural gas resources in Trinidad and Tobago during a period of significantly increased utilization of this resource for the generation of electricity, production of steel and most significantly, the production of methanol, ammonia and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Grantley was an in-house counsel for The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), a State owned gas gatherer, pipe liner and re-seller, with increasing levels of responsibility over a period of fourteen (14) years between 1982 and 1996 during which time utilization of natural gas expanded dramatically. He left NGC as Vice-President – Corporate Services. He joined M. Hamel-Smith & Co., in 1996 as a Partner. His knowledge of and familiarity with the petroleum industry in Trinidad and Tobago is well recognized.
