Shortly after being admitted in October 2006, Keomi Lourenço joined the firm and spent her first 6 months in the Business Energy & Tax Practice Group, practising in the area of mergers and acquisitions, company law, commercial contracts and business start-ups.
By June 2007 she joined the Banking and Finance Practice Group where she has been and continues to be significantly involved in various aspects of preparing loan and security documentation relative to financing transactions inclusive of project financing and advising on the local law issues that may be pertinent to such transactions.
She attended a Euromoney course on Security Documentation (Taking and Enforcing Security in domestic and Cross-border Transactions) held in Barbados in November 2007 in order to deepen her understanding of financial and security issues. She also provides advice, particularly to foreign companies who are contemplating entering the local market, regarding the local financial and securities industry and the legislative climate and infrastructure of same.
