Mar 8, 2010 - 2010 Appellate Mooting Competition

Students of the Hugh Wooding Law School recently argued an unusual case before the ‘Court of Appeal’ at the Hamel-Smith Appellate Mooting Competition, the final round of which took place on Friday 5th February, 2010.

Appearing for the Appellant were Raphael Saul, Duana Peterson and Tecla Duncan, while Raymond Roberts, Susan-Leigh Christopher and Norlisha Derrick appeared for the Respondent.

The moot was keenly contested: both sides were well prepared and argued their case powerfully.

The panel of Judges comprising Mr. Justice of Appeal Kangaloo and Mme. Justice Yorke-Soo Hon of the Trinidad & Tobago Supreme Court; and Mme. Justice George-Creque of the OECS, expressed commendation and offered both teams practical advice.

A jubilant winning team, all smiles!
